About MCCAS

In the summer of 2003, MVA carried out an in-depth survey of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) needs in Midlothian's Voluntary Sector. It was noted that there is a definite need for ICT support within the sector. After successfully obtaining funding from the Big Lottery Fund, Tyne-Esk Leader + and European Regional Development Fund, a new ICT Development Worker post was created, which has been filled by William Liu . As such, MVA have now added ICT Support to our ever increasing range of services to the Midlothian voluntary sector: Midlothian Community Computing Advice Service (MCCAS).

Supporting the local voluntary sector

(There is a high demand for ICT support in the Midlothian's voluntary sector, and we will do our best to attend to everyone's needs and requests, but please keep in mind that prioritisation will take place accordingly.)

We provide the following support to the Midlothian voluntary sector:

Telephone Support

If you have a computing problem and would like to speak to our ICT Development Worker, don't hesitate to call us on 0131 663 9471.

On-site Visits

If the situation requires us to come out for on-site support, we could arrange to visit your organisation to try and resolve any computing problems you might have, or to discuss other topics you would like to. Please keep in mind however, that this is a small project and consequently, on occasion, prioritisation will take place.

Designing Websites & Databases

One of the key services we will be providing is web design. MCCAS will carry out basic web design training to voluntary organisations in Midlothian who wish to have a web presence. Alternatively, MCCAS can help create a website for you, and provide support via a manual on self-update and maintenance. The same applies for database development. Get in touch with William for further details.
